As winter slowly closes in again and this being November I fondly recall Rene the great super we had and his legendary New Year's Eve parties Those were the days of joy and fun Fondly remembering Frobisher Place

Well maintained building close to major shopping areas lots of updates over the past months I ve been here Two supers on duty coverage 24 7 Grounds are attractive views are great quiet building with persons of all ages All the talk of pharaoh ants is stupid Every building has them they don't bite the few I ve seen are squished with my finger

How about Asbestos in this old building I am willing to buy and I worry about it

I m so excited about the lobby reno It's long overdue I ve always thought the lobby was a disappointment especially that ghastly outdated floor an eyesore Does anyone know if the floor will be replaced If so what will it be What else will be done Will the front windows and doors be replaced to match our swish new unit windows and doors I hope so it only stands to reason The lobby is so dark will special lighting be done I would like it lit up like a Christmas tree I know there is an info session on the 25th but i just can't wait for news So happy to hear about this project

In a dispute i just had with the property manager about misinformation she was sarcastic It was unpleasant and unprofessional

I ve been here for 5 years The building is very clean It is secure locks cameras the whole works I have no problems on my floor with other tenants and the new staff seem to be the best out of the whole lot cleaner and new super The current board and tenants are what really makes this place

We just bought here I love the view I am pleased with the cleanliness and the location is great People are very friendly I have not had much to do with Rene but we got support from him and the other guy to move our stuff without a problem The Tuck Shop I am not too impressed with I felt ripped off Otherwise I would highly recommend it

Buyer Beware this unit has a major issue with Pharaoh ants so be advised before you purchase here They have been seen in several units and have been in the building for years It is a major building issue

I m considering renting an apartment in here Looking to find out if there have been any improvements I honestly don't care about the Board being incompetent Im more so looking for Is it clean and quite And a decent place to live

Strange that I came upon this My name is Gerry I was the building Superintendent there maybe 8 or 10 years ago I wonder Who is your manager now who is on your board who are your super's well i guess you cant mentions name here I may visit the building and meet old friends owners I wonder is the store still there I remember owners being happy there family like In my time there there was a property manager and assistant in the office daily not weekends and 1 super and 1 assistants and a cleaner and a large board of directors maybe 9 10 members you could email me if you wish at gerry l live ca

Fantastic value for the money and one of the best locations in Ottawa I ve lived here for 3 years now and things have improved significantly since then I personally find the new Super to be great He's been quick and responsive the few times I ve needed him My neighbors are fantastic the board members are also kind and very open Although most of the negative comments below may have been true in the past I don't find that to be the case at all anymore The new windows are beautiful and a welcome improvement to the quality of my home in the sky

The board does not publish agendas or minutes No newsletter from the board for months Town Halls have been abandoned There is no noticeboard in the building that is not controlled by the manager and the board So the only way people in this building get their information is by rumors Here are some new ones We all know the garbage bins in the garage have been removed The rumor is that the super who is responsible for that area did not like taking the garbage out on garbage day So the residents have been given the job of taking out their own garbage instead The rumor is an elected board member has resigned and that the replacement person was hand picked by the president Is that legal The supers don't like residents knocking on their door when they are on duty The rumor is the Board has okayed that the supers don't have to put a sign on their door when they are on duty Go ahead and check There are no signs on their door any more The only way to reach the super on duty is to call the pager to leave a message with the answering service The super can then decide whether and when to respond to the call Is anyone asking why we have two supers who live in large paid apartments who don't want anyone bothering them when they are on duty Honestly is somebody causing this stuff on purpose to make the place fall apart Why

Wow have been reading the reviews of l 785 Riverside Drive and I have one more to add this happened a few weeks ago and shows how much the Superintendents DO NOT CARE WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS BUILDING A young boy was stuck in the Elevator and one of the owners went down to get the Superintendent to try and help out with the problem The owner was informed from the Superintendent I am not on duty and only after seeing that the woman was very upset did he go and find the other Superintendent This is the casual and careless attitude of the Superintendents they do not care they get their salary perks from the Board and do not even do their own work Is this what this building has come too Total disregard for anyone but the Board and what the Board wants they get and to HELL with the other paying Owners

To all you complainers Why don't you run for the Board yourselves so you can make some changes if things are so bad The Board members are volunteers could it be that you are too lazy and it's easier to just complain on this website If you are an owner you are entitled to get a list of the names addresses of other owners so you can campaign to get on the board and make whatever changes are necessary You are also entitled to the names of the Board members see Section 55 of the Condominium Act I don't know who the property manager is but there are plenty of property managers in town get someone else if he she is not doing the job I m not an owner renter at Frobisher Place but I am familiar with the building There are problems in any 200 unit building it's too bad that people have chosen to air your dirty laundry in such a public forum

This building is a mess The board is either lazy or incompetent possibly both The building manager is lazy and refuses to do his job Don't bother calling the office bbecause there is never anyone there and the voicemail does not work If by some miracle you do get a response from building manager or board don't get excited Whatever they tell you will be done to address your issue will NEVER happen The staff are not managed Health and safety issues salting sidewalks BED BUGS dog attacks break ins garbage in the stairwells are ignored covered up and the residents are lied to about them The supers are lazy ignorant and rude to residents The supers will not do their jobs and are paid handsomely for it they don't even answer emergency pages The building is dirty and in very bad repair the parking lot is often full of garbage The supers pick and choose which residents will be required to follow the rules If you tip the supers enough or do them enough favours the rules don't apply to you The supers also seem to feel free to harass any residents they choose without any consequences Oh and by the way the rules do not apply to the supers I am so glad to have moved

This building seemed perfect at first However due to careless practices by an aged and under educated board of directors the building was let go to very costly repairs that should have been done 10 years ago ie complete overhaul of elevators This is the building for you if you want to spend all summer waiting for an elevator when your 29 stories up The grounds are for the most part marginal with owners letting there animals defecate urinate on the grass it is almost always yellow and burnt up in the back and side yards The building superintendent is arrogant and thinks he owns the place should have been let go before he was hired The people that have been on the board of directors should have been put into a home 10 years ago This is a very stuck up building and young couples should look elsewhere The buildings board over the years has seriously underfunded the bank accounts meaning some lucky new condo owner is going to have a hefty special assessment bill and I suspect will be paying a large portion of door window replacements on the exterior of their units If your looking for 1985 style condo living with a 2015 ring to it when the elevator arrives this is the building for you PS Morning commutes are horrendous on this end of Riverside Dr being so close to HWY 417 and there is constant bus noise being on the transitway at 29 floors up
