A four building complex located in between a residential area and a commercial district

For some reason it will not let me log in with my ID and PW but I am a current owner All previous comments on the management company were 100 true Anyone saying otherwise never delt with them or had their head in the sand HOWEVER as of Feb 1st 2019 they were ousted and not on good terms and a new company is now looking after the building The new management company is MCM Property Management To early to tell how they are to deal with but anything has got to be better then the old company

Left a message for the on site manager The VM does not give hours he is available or anything like that at all but DOES SAY he will respond shortly and help address any issues I waited 24 hours and after no call back I called again and left another VM Once again after no call back after 48 more hours 4 days later now I finally got him to answer When I told him I had been leaving him messages and waiting for his call he brushed me off with Ya well what do you need Not a care in the world Turns out he only works 2 days a week and only for 2 3 hours each day How the hell do you run a complex with HUNDREDS of units working 6 hours a week The security is good with the new system the property is in good condition and I like the location as it is close to everything But heaven forbid anything happens or you have questions or something goes wrong You are royally screwed FIRE THIS MAN

Tenant's property has been ruined due to water pipe bursts Carpet beetles Walls are paper thin hence it is very noisy can hear the neighbours conversations Location is unsafe It is cheap but not worth the constant state of stress living here

This condo complex is probably the biggest joke I have ever had to endure The property manager is a utterly useless You get warnings and fines for literally everything I would never live here again nor would I EVER suggest someone to rent or own a unit in any one of their buildings They grab money from tenants and landlords wherever they see fit All of the staff in the building as well as on the condo board are rude inconsiderate unprofessional and unhelpful When you need assistance or have a complaint there is never anyone to help you but when they require something from you they are demanding and invasive I have had instances of the building manager providing other tenants with our information to the point where we had individuals coming to our unit and knocking on our door to invade our privacy like they had some right to Others living in the buildings are nosey and equally rude as those who work there

Showing units in the complex a realtor and the client received parking tickets within 35 minutes of being at the complex It was told by the Calgary Parking Authority that parking violations are called in by a person at the complex before a parking authority will come to the complex It was said they collect approximately 3000 00 per month in parking violations This activity seems to be an issue for more than a few people The client went back to the unit to collect pictures to fight the ticket and spoke to residents who see people getting tagged regularly and were planning to move due to this If the Condo Board's mandate is to have unhappy residents and visitors they seem to be succeeding

We've been in this building 5 yrs renting from an awesome landlord but there s been some issues The amount of grocery carts on and around the property is disgusting Last year a mother teenager s moved into one of the bottom corner units the kids often have friends by I have found the side entrance door the inside one that brings you to main floor hallway left open a bunch of times because they leave it for their friends to come go They play loud music It s the vibration from the bass sound that s hard to endure Then one morning I found a bunch of opened condom wrappers condoms all over the floor by that unit There's a large unregistered dog that barks incessantly pounds across the uncarpeted floors above us that we can't get anything done about We did receive emails from the condo assoc that they would send warning letters but nothing has come of it This also only started last year It used to be so peaceful before that The windows and siding are so gross and dirty but it s probably worse on the Lowes side since that side is more exposed to the elements We own a house in another province that we can t sell because it s a small town there is very little demand so we can t buy another place until we sell that one We loved living here so much for the first few years that we would have liked to buy here but if I was an owner I would definitely have a hard time accepting the issues listed above

I've lived here MANY years Original owner occupant It's a starter apartment but it was priced accordingly when I bought It's an income property for many that is sometimes the challenge We've been managed well financially Condo fees have been reasonable Only one special assessment and it made sense No complaints about how the buildings are managed I have not always been a fan of the mgmt company we partner with but I have an immense amount of respect for people who VOLUNTEER to be on a board and put in the time and energy to do things the rest of us don't do and most years the board has done an amazing job Its communal living You hear kids you hear dogs barking you hear footsteps Yes sometimes people play music too loudly but in MY experience it's infrequent no impact to my quality of life I face away from the parking lots so can't speak to what that's like but most of the time for me it's super quiet even with all the windows open at night in the summer Like neighbours anywhere some are messy but some take responsibility to pick up after others To do more than their share Only once did I complain about a neighbour It was a renter who was evicted VERY shortly afterward On the other hand I ve had the pleasure of meeting lots of great people living here some LONG TERM owners or renters many who have come and gone Young people old people families singles It's a blend For what it is I highly recommend this complex

I have had many of the same problems as previous reviewers I have had to deal with in reasonable and ridiculous parking fines after the first fine that I paid I received a second one for the same month Once I learned how seriously they take the 8 pass uses a month I asked my friends to park at Lowes and was sent a second ticket even after I stopped using the pass On top of this my roommate owner can't even get a new underground parking pass his barely works and he has to press it for about 3 minutes just to get in He can't get ahold of anyone from the condo board and they won't return his calls I am currently seeking paper proof of my current parking violations with no reply I love the area and feel safe and secure but am frustrated and angry with the lack of response and responsibility on the part of the condo board

We have been living here since September 2014 and are stuck in a one year lease agreement To this day building has not set up our buzzer system And anytime I call and leave a message to Cynthia Mac Farlene if she picks up the phone she is SOOO rude and other times have just left messages emails and NO CALL RETURNS My mother was in ICU for a month and then she passed away so my brother was here from out of town and had his car parked with the guest permit and they first gave us 250 ticket on April 22 and gave us a ticket for 500 on May 1st Because we were going through such a difficult time we did not get to act upon it right away and Cynthia hung up on me and did not even listen to our problem for violation like as if we murdered someone that we could not even be given a chance to explain ourselves

This place could be worse but it also could be much much better It is a convenient location if you do not have a vehicle as you are able to walk to almost any store you could need and the bus is close however if you drive it is hell First you need to schedule 5 minutes to get to the parkade because the elevator is the slowest elevator in the world and the only staircase that accesses the parkade is on the opposite end of the building and then schedule another 5 just to get onto Deerfoot make that 10 minutes if it is a weekend due to all the lights and traffic Further the parking in this building is a joke one parking stall and if you try and find another one to rent by posting a sign on the bulletin board it just gets taken down on a daily basis Park in the visitor parking and receive a 250 fine park in the commercial area behind the building and have your vehicle broken into Interactions with the condo board have been rude and slow they are not very helpful or friendly and enjoy giving fines for as many ridiculous things as possible must be why they have such a healthy reserve fund I am thankful I only rent and am not tied to this place looking forward to moving soon for my own sanity and being able to park at my home

Where do I start I became a renter here in July I was soooo excited to move in The property management company we deal with promised to help us through the whole process and wouldn't just leave us in the dark Well that was a lie No mail key buzzer and an obselete underground parking remote Parking fines even though I had no parking RIDICULOUS fines There fines aren't even reasonable I m a renter you think I have money to throw around If it was reasonable there would never be an issue again and all would be paid Morons I will never recommend this place to anybody It is a joke

My wife and I rented here for a year before we decided to buy the unit we currently own It is a wonderful place to live and is a 2 minute walk to Walmart Safeway a ton of restaurants soon Earls Yum and basically anything you could possibly need Located minutes away from the new hospital it would be great for singles or couples that work there You are just off the deerfoot and then the soon to be done ring road will open access even further Next security is amazing in the condo now too We recently had cameras installed and all access to the building is controlled by a FOB system In our last AGM the accountant mentioned that South Pointe has one of the healthiest reserve funds he has seen Also since we moved in we have had only 1 special assessment and this was for the security system installed There has not been a single increase of condo fees either Budgets are balanced and the complex is in immaculate shape I think this is a fantastic place to live and attractive for all people looking Whether it is to rent or buy Seniors first time homebuyers like we were and anyone that loves to walk to the places they need to go

Good You can walk to do almost all of your shopping The BRT stop is 5 min away Easy access to Deerfoot 22 X Barlow 52nd Condo fees are high but if maintenance is being done any problems should be covered by reserve fund Only one murder here so far Bad Built by Pointe of View do not hold their value very well Don't buy here if you want to make any money More condos have been built in the area so supply is high lowering the value of all other condos All you can do is try to limit your losses Condo board is arrogant slow to act unresponsive to owner needs and inconsistently punishes units Rules are enforced for some units but not for others Bring it up and you'll get fined If you live here make sure you're on the board or friends with someone who is Otherwise your life will made difficult Many issues with vandalism It took over a year for residents to be kicked out after starting fires spraying pepper spray smashing bottles inside vomiting in common areas screaming in the parking lot at night Cars were being vandalised in the parkade and the board refused to deal with it The biggest negative of all the management co Condominium First They are a joke The rep there responsible for SP Debbie F gets angry when you contact her does not return calls has little knowledge of her industry and is frustrating to deal with Her mistakes will cost you Even the accountants can't keep track of the money you pay to them
