"Great location"

The common areas of the building are well kept. Carpets are cleaned regularly and the landscaped areas are kept tidy. The location is close to river pathways and a mix of events that are held in the area such as Canada day fireworks, music festivals, food truck frenzies, yoga classes, community bike rides and walks, Shakespeare in the park etc. I would recommend it to young couples and singles!

"Elevator #2 still not
working"

To buddy who said that all repairs have been completed properly... What are you talking about? Elevator #2 still isn't working. And it doesn't look as though it will be for a long time.

"Terrible bulding,
horrible management
company."

DO NOT BUY IN THIS BUILDING. The Management Company is the worst - poor communication (little to no communication, actually), awful on-site "care-taker", the fire alarm went of 5 times in one week in the middle of the night (on-going problem), there's no soundproofing between floors (loud), no security, poorly maintained common areas, and the flood has caused the building to buckle (our front door and deck door frames are off-square so they have to be kicked open and shut. If you read any positive reviews on here DISREGARD THEM. These are from people who own in the building and are clinging onto scraps of positivity so they can one day sell their unit without taking a huge loss. I've lived in several condo buildings and this one is by FAR the absolute worst. STAY AWAY!!!

"Worst management and
maintenance."

York West was terrible for the flood. I had to rely on twitter for news. The condo board eventually put up a page, but not everyone used it. The board seems ineffectual. Not much actual regulation to keep noise down, no one properly monitors waste removal or gets after people for storing (MANY) things on patios, no proper recycling set up 4 months post flood, no communication as to repair status. On the subject of waste removal they had a couple cleaning for a while before the flood, at least the waste room was clean and the compactor would not run all the time. But now, we seem to be back to just letting it become a rotting mess. I won't complain about the flood damage, there was a lot, and still a lot to fix, but I happen to know we are not the only ones in that boat. I love being near downtown. I love the East Village development plans, lived here for years and always felt safe. But seriously... York West has proven to be the worst. Improper amount of notice given for things like alarm testing and even repairs frankly we could use more of a heads up. Very poor co-ordiation of repairs with contractors, pre AND post flood. They will never return a call from anyone. I'm not sure who to be mad at, flooding aside there are a lot of issues here that are actually avoidable.

"Future bleek. After over
1000000 in repairs they
are only half done."

Worst management company in the business. When the floods came we had to walk the buildings next door to get flood updates. (Another company) stay away from Yorkwest and this building if your lucky.

"as of 2013"

I've been in the building in a 2bed 2 bath unit for a little over a year and have been quite happy with it. The convenience and advantages of being right on the river and soo close to DT are great. Most of the complaints from the earlier review are resolved. The only security issues I've seen are couple of car breakins outside on the street. I live on the top floor so cannot comment on the noise from units above, but have had no noise problems (including fire alarm issues???). I have never seen the elevator out of order and lets be serious its only a 4 storey building. The main level noise from the compacter is still an issue, but the building has limited the hours of use to try and limt impact. All repairs seem to have been completed properly. All things considered I WOULD NOT recommend purchasing a unit in the building, it seems to be fairly poorly managed and a little prone to problems.

All repairs seem to have been completed properly. Umm Seriously? What are you talking about... As of July 2013 you think that all repairs have been completed? IT's JANUARY 2014 and the lobby is still not finished being repaired! There's no carpet in the main floor, walls aren't painted, the common room isn't even close to being finished, the parkade still smells like a sewer. Don't mislead people into thinking this is a 3 star building.

"Thank GOD I only rent."

I lived in this building for three years, and here is what I put up with; 1) Very poor security. Low lights, few working cameras, some "decoy cameras". 2) Replaced the carpet in the building halls, without matting, so now you can hear people walking down the hall on the floors above your unit. 3) Fire alarm goes off very often in the summer. 4) Very poor sound proofing in the floors 5) Elevator breaks down VERY often, and looks scratched and damaged. 6) If you are unfortunate to live on the main floor, you can hear the trash compactor on the parkade floor. 7) "Party" or "Meeting" room is stuffed with reject furniture. 8) Improper moisture barrier installed during construction, so now the west side of the building has to be stripped, the wood replaced, and re-stuccoed. however, it has sat for a year incomplete. I truly feel sorry for the people who bought units, and this has been a lesson for me as to what to look for when it comes time for me to buy.

Hi, I think it's pretty cool to live by the river and stay in downtown. How much is the rental fee for a 1 bedroom unit in the building? is there any reason keeps you there for 3 years? Thanks.
unregistered user on March 1 2010:
The only reason I stayed for three years was due to the rent and the river. However, now that there are more options available in the city, I'm moving on in two months time to a clean, secure building in Eau Claire for the same rent. You are right, it is nice to live by the river... but you have to have more than that reason to buy a place. Rent seems to go 1200.00 for 1 bedroom, with parking. Units can be pretty small though, good for singles, not so much for couples.
unregistered user on August 27 2010:
I completely agree with the review. I've just recently moved out and I too found far better options for only slightly more. I was paying $950 for a one bed room.
unregistered user on September 22 2010:
I just moved in for a few weeks; I used to live in the west end area, find this building is really quiet, rarely see people hanging around, doesn't feel like downtown at all. Don't get me wrong, I like it so far, maybe need more time to discover the con's. My unit is very small, the landlord told me it has 580sqft, but I feel it's much smaller, prbably the measure includes the in-suite laudry room?

STAY AWAY! I was trying to rent out a unit in this condo for a friend of mine and it was difficult because of the security and construction issues. This building is a special assessment trap! My friend has since sold because it was a bad investment with the ever rising cost of the condo fees and ongoing special assessments.

I've lived in Riverfront 333 for four years and I own a condo here. This review is totally biased and unfair. Most problems have been resolved or are being addressed. Location and atmosphere are excellent, especially with the Promenade being establihed along the river. Great complex very conveniently located.
unregistered user on April 25 2011:
Instead of stating how this review is unfair, perhaps you, as an owner, can educate people on the changes in the building since October 2009. New management company? Repairs done? These all sound like very valid issues that allegedly existed in 2009, but if they are being addressed, or fixed, let the people know.
unregistered user on February 13 2013:
how is this condo now in 2013
unregistered user on April 14 2013:
I would say that as of 2013, these are all still valid. I rent in the building and my biggest issue is the noise from the unit above me - very poor sound proofing/none at all.
unregistered user on June 6 2013:
unfortunately many of the issues mentioned still exist....the renovated river pathway is certainly a plus but....
unregistered user on June 20 2013:
i live on 3rd floor facing south for a year and half. a fan is necessary in summer...
unregistered user on February 3 2015:
Stay away. The building has gone seriously downhill since the flood. Don't buy, and don't rent!
